Motor Components, LLC is currently seeking an experienced Regional Technical Sales Manager. The Technical Sales Manager manages the sales channel for low pressure and high pressure pumps used in the gasoline, diesel and specialty fluids OEM and Aftermarket segments. This position sells technical services, products and systems, and is the key leader to set sales targets, develop comprehensive sales plans and forecasts to identify and produce a steady pipeline of prospects. The Technical Sales Manager utilizes deep technical acumen to educate personnel on products, competitors and prospecting while partnering with internal technical and marketing teams to utilize customer insights and market intelligence to contribute to the product roadmap. This position is the key liaison between the customer and the business unit. This role nurtures relationships with key customers and provides mentorship and management direction to their Customer Service subordinate staff on their day to day activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Manages, leads, coaches, and mentors’ direct reports and provides for a team based environment that facilitates cohesion, profitability, and sales growth while providing excellent customer service
• Develops the annual sales budgets and plans related to the territory and identified customers
• Develops monthly sales forecasts and business presentations
• Prospects new business opportunities consistent with the goals of the business unit
• Provides Customer Service satisfaction and support with accurate order processing, quoting and timely handling of customer complaints, warranty claims or Return Material Authorizations.
• Leads key marketing initiatives related to the website, advertising, cataloging, merchandising, trade shows and market intelligence
• Visits with customers and maintains regular verbal and written communication with existing and potential new customers on a regular basis
• Works closely with customer engineering groups to offer solutions to their needs
• Ensures gross margins and pricing are in unison with established EBITA requirements for the business unit
• Must be capable of traveling domestically up to 50% of time, and periodic international travel as needed
• Performs other duties as may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with emphasis on Fluid Dynamics would be beneficial
• Minimum 5 years Sales experience within a specialized manufacturing environment
• Exemplary oral and written communication and proofreading skills required. Must be detail orientated and
proficient user of Microsoft Office Products
• Exceptional organizational skills. Ability to prioritize initiatives and actions with little to no direction
• Skilled at developing stakeholder relationships
